During your free brake check, we'll determine if your vehicle needs any further brake service, such as:

Installation of new brake pads or shoes
Resurfacing or replacement of brake rotors or drums
    Brake fluid change
    Brake bleeding
Replacement of brake lines, hoses and other brake components

    Brake Fluid Change

Over time, brake fluid can become contaminated as moisture builds up. Most brake components contain copper and when copper is exposed to moisture, it begins to erode. As brake components erode, particles can begin to contaminate the brake fluid - and that means it's time for a brake fluid change. During your free brake check, a Tire and Auto Service Professional will inspect and perform a strip dip brake fluid test to determine if you need a brake fluid change. If the strip dip brake fluid tests reveals that your brake fluid is contaminated then it's time for a brake fluid change.

    Brake Bleeding
The need for brake bleeding arises when air gets into your brake fluid line. The introduction of air into the brake fluid can be caused by a leak, overrunning of the master cylinder, or simply from having had recent work done on your brakes. If air has made its way into your brake fluid line, it causes your brake pedal to have a soft, spongy feeling when you press down on it. If you are experiencing this when braking, you may need brake bleeding to correct the problem.

  • Rotating your tires means moving them from one side of the vehicle to the other, moving them from front to back, or a combination of both. This helps avoid uneven tire wear, which can lead to poor performance and decreased gas mileage.

The experts at FRANKLIN AUTOMOTIVE can ensure that your tires are rotated properly. Your tire-rotation services include:

    Removing tires
    Inspecting the wear patterns
Putting tires back on where they will wear most evenly
Resetting the tire-pressure monitors as needed

Why is it important to rotate my tires?

Tires may wear differently depending on their position on the vehicle, your driving style, and the condition of your suspension
Regularly rotating your tires helps evenly distribute tire wear - helping you get the most miles out of your tires while maximizing traction on all four wheels
On front-wheel-drive vehicles, front tires tend to wear faster than rear tires due to added pressure/resistance from steering

How often should I have my tires rotated?
Regular tire rotations as basic tire maintenance and recommends you get your tires rotated every 3,000-6,000 miles (5,000 km-10,000 km).

  • When auto air conditioning systems break down, refrigerant leaks. Not only is refrigerant harmful to the environment, it's also harmful to your car. Leaking refrigerant can damage your vehicle's evaporator and compressor. Getting a car air conditioner service at the first sign of trouble will save you both money and time.

At Franklin Automotive, your car is in good hands with expert auto technicians, they will examine your car's A/C system to see if there is a leak – and if there is, they'll stop it in their tracks before it can affect anything else.

When temperatures rise, there's nothing more refreshing than climbing into a cool, air-conditioned car. Over time, however, A/C fittings become loose, O-rings, hoses and seals wear out – and your refreshingly icy blast … stops. Get the cool back with Franklin Automotive AC service. Our expert auto technicians offer the best car AC service and AC repair at the best prices.

  • Maintaining your serpentine belts, fan belts and timing belts is incredibly important to the overall health of your car. If any of these belts stop working, you risk serious damage to the car’s vital systems, including the car’s engine, alternator, air conditioner, and power steering pump. In short, if you wait too long for a serpentine replacement, fan or timing belt replacement, you’re facing expensive and time-consuming auto repair services.

  • Do you need to replace your windshield wiper blades? FRANKLIN AUTOMOTIVE can help you find the best windshield wiper replacement for your vehicle. Our auto service professionals can quickly swap out your old wiper blades for new wiper blades. Over time, your car’s windshield wiper blades wear out. Usually they need to be replaced every 6 to 12 months. If your wiper blades are cracked or torn, they can no longer grip the windshield and wipe off rain, mud, sleet, and snow effectively. If your wiper blades are worn out, bring your car in for new wiper blades – no appointment necessary.

  • Over time, car headlights (headlamps) burn out and the headlight electrical system ages over time. It’s important to clean and check your car headlights. It’s unsafe to drive your vehicle if one of your headlights is burned out, or your view of the road is impaired by fading car headlights. Most vehicle headlights should last at least 18 to 24 months or longer.

If the electrical system to your car headlights is aging, or your car headlights are burnt out, come into FRANKLIN AUTOMOTIVE where one of our experienced, ASE-certified automotive and tire professionals will replace your car headlights with a major brand bulbs and inspect the electrical connections to the headlights.

  • Your car battery is one of the most important components for your vehicle to run. A car battery supplies large amounts of electrical current for the starter, engine and other electronic accessories in the vehicle. The auto battery also recharges and stores energy from the car's alternator. We will make sure you have a healthy car battery.

If the engine is the heart of your vehicle, the car battery is its blood. And just like a heart can't pump without blood, an engine can't run without the juice that a car battery pumps into it. Together with the engine and the alternator, the car battery is one of the vital components of a car's health. Car battery check-ups are a must-do for your vehicle. The car's health depends on them, and our expert technicians are able to perform a thorough evaluation of an automotive battery and electrical system. Regular checkups for your car or truck will ensure it to be around for the long haul. A strong and healthy auto battery is what every car owner wants.
